Introduction
Ajanta Caves are UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 and are locate close to Jalgaon town at Maharashtra, India. They are 29 rock-cut cave monuments including paintings and sculptures. They are about 2nd BCE old. These caves are discovered by an British army officer of Madras Regiment in 1819 when he was in a hunting expedition. These group of caves get their name derived from nearby village called Ajanta. Among 30 excavations, five caves number 9,10, 19, 26, 29 are chaityagrihas and the rest are viharas. All paintings shows heavy religious influence and center around Buddha, Bodhisttvas, incidents from the life of Buddha and Jatakas.
