20/May/2010: Tigress died under mysterious circumstances inside Bandhavgarh
On Wednesday, 19/May/2010, a tigress found dead close to water source by the tourists. At first, forest official said that it was due to conflict between tigers or due to illness. But, as per postmortem report, tigress was hit more than once by some vehicle which was driven at approx. speed of 50-60km/hr. Body of Tigress was found by visitor tourists at around 07:30 AM during safari. As per postmortem report, tigress was hit at 3-4 hrs before the death time which means around 04:00 AM. As 04:00 AM is not the safari time. About 13 safari jeeps were detained for forensic examination and their driver & safari-guides are questioned. As they were not in jungle at the time of accident so all of them get clean-chit. Matter has now reached to Indian President, Environment Ministry etc. International Organization for Animal Welfare & Naresh Kadyan is taking active interest in matter. Park management is under severe criticism, not only in India but at world level. Fresh development 03 employees are suspended. Here silence of local hotelier, wildlife photographer, wildlife travel agents, wildlife conservationists is surprising. At the time of tigress translocation to Panna Park, they all protested but not now. They have earned name-fame & money from these forests & animals and when they are in need of their voice, they are silent and ignorant showing double-standard.

09 /Feb./ 2010: Bison rehabilitation project for Bandhavgarh delayed
Bison translocation project for Bandhavgarh will be delayed due to objection raised by Central Environment Ministry. Ministry has objection on translocation of Bison from Kanha National Park to Bandhavgarh National Park as essential new buffer-zone of 700 sq. km. & corridor connectivity work has not yet done. Environment Ministry believes that both the steps are essential for the success of Bison rehabilitation project.
Last Bison sighting in Bandhavgarh forest was in 1998, since then they never returned back to Bandhavgarh forest due to loss of corridor connectivity that connects Bandhavgarh forest from Amarkantak – Achanakmar forest. They seasonally migrate through Bandhavgarh Amarkantak forest corridor by loss of forest in given corridor blocked they natural route and thus Bandhavgarh forest lost Great Indian Bisons. Translocation of existing 85 villages will delay the process.
